Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Orange Bible mobile application and orangebible.com website (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Alin Patularu ("Service Provider," "we," "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account using a valid email address or supported third-party sign-in provider. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at orangebibleapp@gmail.com of any unauthorized use of your account.

Premium Subscription & Billing

The Service offers a paid premium tier ("Premium") that unlocks additional features including the Study Assistant, Study Bible, expanded library, and increased sats earning. Premium is available on a monthly or annual basis through:

• Apple App Store in-app purchase (iOS)
• Google Play in-app purchase (Android)
• Stripe (orangebible.com — credit card, monthly or annual)
• OpenNode (orangebible.com — Bitcoin / Lightning, annual)

Subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google auto-renew until cancelled and are governed by the respective app store's billing policies. You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your App Store or Play Store account settings.

Subscriptions purchased through Stripe auto-renew until cancelled. You may cancel anytime from within the application or by contacting us; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Bitcoin payments processed through OpenNode are one-time annual purchases and do not auto-renew. You may purchase another year at any time before or after expiration.

All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and may change with notice. Existing subscriptions continue at their original price until renewal.

Refunds

Refunds for App Store and Play Store purchases are handled directly by Apple and Google according to their policies. Refunds for Stripe and OpenNode purchases may be requested by contacting us at the email above; we evaluate refund requests on a case-by-case basis. Bitcoin refunds, when granted, are issued at the Bitcoin amount of the original payment and are subject to network fees.

Sats & Lightning Network

The Service includes a gratuity-style rewards feature ("Sats") granted to users for engaging with Bible reading and study features. Sats are not a financial product, security, investment, or money transmission. They are a promotional reward denominated in Bitcoin satoshis and have no cash value outside of withdrawal to a Lightning address.

You may withdraw accumulated sats to a Lightning address you control, subject to minimum and maximum withdrawal amounts displayed within the Service. Lightning Network transactions are final and irreversible once broadcast. The Service Provider is not responsible for incorrect Lightning addresses, wallet errors, network fees, or payments sent to addresses that fail to resolve.

The Service Provider reserves the right to adjust sats earning rates, modify withdrawal limits, or pause the rewards program at any time. The Service Provider may revoke sats granted in error, through abuse of the Service, or in violation of these Terms.

Bible Content

Bible translations made available through the Service, including the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), are licensed by their respective publishers or are in the public domain. The Service Provider does not claim ownership of Bible text. Trademarks, study notes, commentary, and original written material produced by the Service Provider remain the property of the Service Provider.

User Content

Notes, highlights, bookmarks, and other content you create within the Service remain your property. By submitting content to the Service, you grant the Service Provider a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service for you.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
• Use bots, scripts, or other automated methods to inflate sats earnings or otherwise abuse the rewards system
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit access to the Service without written permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service or its servers
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm other users

AI Features

Certain Premium features, including the Study Assistant, use third-party large language model providers to generate responses to your questions. AI-generated content is provided for informational and devotional purposes only and may contain inaccuracies. Do not rely on AI output as a substitute for theological scholarship, professional advice, or original biblical study. The Service Provider is not responsible for the content of AI-generated responses.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from within the Service or at orangebible.com/delete-account. The Service Provider may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, abuse of the Service, or any conduct deemed harmful to the Service or other users. On termination, your access to Premium features ends immediately; unused Premium time is not refundable except as required by the billing platform's policies. Sats unclaimed at the time of termination are forfeited.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Service Provider does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service Provider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Total liability for any direct damages shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid the Service Provider in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of residence of the Service Provider, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction.

Changes to These Terms

The Service Provider may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
